Job Overview
Specialty Medical Staffing has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy at an acute care hospital in Asheboro, NC. This position is ideal for a strong pharmacy leader with experience in clinical operations, financial management, regulatory compliance, and staff development.
Responsibilities

Oversee daily inpatient pharmacy operations within a 24/7 pharmacy department.

Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

Provide clinical and financial leadership for pharmacy services.

Manage pharmacy staff, department workflows, and operational performance.

Support staff development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain regulatory readiness, including preparation for Joint Commission surveys.

Collaborate with hospital leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective pharmacy services.
Requirements
-
Active North Carolina pharmacist license required.

PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

Previous hospital pharmacy leadership or Director of Pharmacy experience.

Strong clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory knowledge.

Experience with Meditech and Pyxis preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Information

Primarily weekday daytime hours.
-
Weekend staffing is not routinely required.

Temporary assignment with the potential for extension depending on facility needs.
