Pharmacist-in-Charge – Interim Contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $80+/hr
On-Call: Possible Weekend Coverage

Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for an interim contract opportunity at a behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, AK. This position involves overseeing pharmacy operations, supporting medication safety, and maintaining regulatory compliance in a specialized inpatient environment serving pediatric and detox patients.

Requirements

• Active Alaska Pharmacist license required

• Ability to fulfill Pharmacist-in-Charge responsibilities

• Acute care or behavioral health pharmacy experience preferred

• Strong organizational, communication, and clinical decision-making skills

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with hospital staff

• Availability for potential weekend on-call coverage

Responsibilities

• Review and enter medication orders, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness

• Monitor medication therapies and identify potential safety concerns

• Oversee Omnicell medication management and verification

• Maintain pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance as Pharmacist-in-Charge

• Collaborate with clinical staff to support safe medication administration

• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient daily workflows
