Pharmacist – Critical Access Hospital
Location: Gallup, NM
Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking a Hospital Pharmacist for a contract opportunity with a critical access hospital in the Gallup, NM area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inpatient pharmacist to join a collaborative pharmacy team while supporting a growing hospital pharmacy program.
We are seeking a pharmacist with strong inpatient experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to support daily pharmacy operations in a critical access hospital setting.
Assignment Details
- Start: August 1, 2026
- Duration: 3+ Months
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 7:00am–4:00pm (or similar day shift), 40 Hours Per Week
- On-Call: Potential after-hours on-call coverage
Requirements
- Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing
- Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
- Sterile compounding experience required
- Experience with Cerner and Pyxis preferred
- Strong communication, clinical, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders
- Prepare and oversee sterile compounding as needed
- Support daily inpatient pharmacy operations and medication distribution
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and hospital policies
- Participate in medication safety, quality improvement, and clinical pharmacy initiatives
