Job Overview

Specialty Medical Staffing has an exciting opportunity for an Inpatient Pharmacist at an established behavioral health hospital in Portland, Oregon. This position is an excellent opportunity to work a consistent schedule at a highly-respected hospital this winter.

Schedule & Coverage

  • Dates: November 23 – January 8

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

  • On-call coverage required after shifts and on weekends

  • Approximately 1–2 on-call requests per week

  • Holidays (Nov. 26, Dec. 25, Jan. 1): On-call only

  • Remote telepharmacy support available during off-hours

  • 3–4 days of training prior to the assignment

Responsibilities

  • Review, enter, and verify inpatient medication orders

  • Ensure accurate medication dispensing, labeling, and documentation

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize medication therapy

  • Manage Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets, inventory, and controlled substances

  • Perform medication preparation, cart exchanges, restocking, and deliveries as needed

  • Coordinate with remote telepharmacy services to ensure continuous pharmacy support

Qualifications

  • Active Oregon Pharmacist license required

  • Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required

  • HCS and Omnicell experience preferred

  • Strong clinical judgment and medication verification skills

  • Ability to work independently with limited technician support

  • Availability for weekday shifts and required on-call coverage

  • Local candidates strongly preferred
