Director of Pharmacy – Hospital - Interim Contract

Location: Glendora, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary Contract
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (40 Hours/Week)
On-Call: Monday–Thursday and the First and Last Weekends of Each Month
Pay Rate: $75-85/hr

Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (DOP/PIC) for an interim leadership opportunity at an acute behavioral health hospital in Glendora, CA. This position involves overseeing pharmacy operations, managing a small pharmacy team, and maintaining regulatory compliance during the facility's transition to permanent leadership.

Requirements

• Active California Pharmacist license required

• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required

• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience required

• Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills

• Cerner and Omnicell experience preferred

• Availability for scheduled weekday and weekend on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations and fulfill Pharmacist-in-Charge responsibilities

• Manage pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and operational priorities

• Coordinate medication purchasing, inventory, and replacement orders

• Investigate and document medication errors and adverse drug reactions

• Attend meetings and collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical staff

• Maintain regulatory compliance and required pharmacy documentation

• Provide scheduled on-call coverage and support continuity of pharmacy operations
