Interim Hospital Pharmacist — Full Time
Specialty Medical Staffing is actively seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a hospital coverage assignment in the Lancaster, OH area. Whether you are an experienced clinical pharmacist or a motivated early-career professional looking to grow your inpatient skills, we encourage you to apply. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Start Date: May 26, 2026
End Date: August 14, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, plus every 6th weekend
Setting: Hospital inpatient pharmacy
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Ohio Pharmacist License in good standing (required)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree
- Inpatient hospital experience required
- Experience with Cerner or similar EHR is a plus — site can train
- Familiarity with Pyxis or similar automated dispensing systems is a plus
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- New graduates encouraged to apply
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Verify inpatient medication orders via CPOE
- Provide verification and oversight of sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding
- Attend and support codes as needed
- Antibiotic stewardship and renal dosing support
- Pharmacotherapy consultations and clinical support for nursing and provider staff
- Medication dispensing and distribution
- Patient education as needed
- Technician staff available to assist with medication preparation, delivery, and overall pharmacy operations
CREDENTIALING & ONBOARDING
- Background check (including education verification) and BCI background check
- 10-panel drug screen (minimum)
- TB test — 2-step or Quantiferon/T-Spot
- MMR & Varicella — 2 vaccines or titer
- Tdap, Hepatitis B
- Color-blindness test
- Ohio license verification
- CPR certification
- HIPAA training
- Code of Conduct review and attestation
- Competencies and hospital-specific forms
- 1-day hospital orientation required prior to start
