Interim Director of Pharmacy – Behavioral Health

Job Title: Interim Director of Pharmacy – Behavioral Health
Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM + On-Call
Start: ASAP

Specialty Medical Staffing is currently hiring an Interim Director of Pharmacy / PIC for a behavioral health hospital in the Bethlehem, PA area. This position is ideal for an experienced pharmacist with inpatient experience who is comfortable leading pharmacy operations in a behavioral health setting.

This role includes both operational leadership and staffing responsibilities, including supporting the setup and development of pharmacy processes within the facility.

Assignment Details

  • Start: ASAP

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • On-call: Required

  • Weekend Coverage: Order verification from home at 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM (approximately one hour each time)

  • System: Epic (training provided onsite)

  • Automation: Omnicell (experience preferred, training available)

  • Setting: Behavioral Health Hospital

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Director of Pharmacy 

  • Perform pharmacist staffing duties including order verification and dispensing oversight

  • Support pharmacy operations including medication ordering and Omnicell stocking

  • Attend leadership and operational meetings

  • Assist with new pharmacy program development, including policies and initial setup

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital standards

Requirements

  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License

  • Inpatient pharmacy experience required

  • Behavioral health experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and support pharmacy program development
