Job Description:
Pharmacy technicians works closely with pharmacists to ensure the health and safety of patients. They locate, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for patients. It is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before dispensing to the patient. They also aid in assisting the pharmacists with administrative tasks such as processing insurance claims, tracking inventory, and filing paperwork.

Job Details:
Location: Sammamish, WA
Hourly Rate: $24-$28/hr DOE
Setting: Retail/Community

Core Competencies:
Occupational Competencies
  • Check information on prescriptions: Knowledge of verifying the information on prescriptions from patients or from the doctor`s office ensuring that it is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare prescription labels: Experience with preparing prescription labels, select the type of prescription container and attach the prescription labels to the container.
  • Maintain pharmaceutical records: Experience with maintain accuracy of prescription records and inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products.
  • Communicate with customers: Experience with responding and communicating with customers in the most efficient and appropriate manner to enable them to access the desired products or services, or any other help they may require.
  • Manage healthcare users' data: Knowledge of keeping accurate client records which also satisfy legal and professional standards and ethical obligations to facilitate client management, ensuring that all clients' data (including verbal, written and electronic) are treated confidentially.
  • Process medical insurance claims: Experience with contacting the patient`s health insurance company and submitting the appropriate forms with information on the patient and treatment.
Required Certifications:
  • Washington Pharmacy Technician License
