Schedule: Facility operating hours 7a-5p
Direct Hire:
Base salary commensurate with skills/experience - Range: $87360 - 95680
EMR: Paper charting

Nurse Manager schedule:
•    Monday-Friday, 5x8s, 40-hours/week, no weekends, no holidays, no call

JOB SUMMARY:
The RN Charge Nurse in, the Operating Room must meet the competency requirements contained within the RN OR job responsibilities. The Charge Nurse possesses a thorough knowledge of the ASC scope of services and functions in the Clinical Lead role in the Center, supervising roles and responsibilities provided by OR professionals and para-professional staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  
 Estimated 50% assuming direct patient care assignment
•    Estimated 50% of managerial-related activities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Leads with exemplary conduct, providing mentorship when needed and supervisory support as required by the personnel.
•    Consistently prepares monthly OR staff schedules based on changing needs of the department, staffing plan, caseload, service lines, indirect patient care activities, procedures, special assignments or projects, necessary training, and budgetary constraints.
•    Determines daily assignments based on skill set, training needs, and/or demonstrated competencies of available staff.
•    Evaluate staff level of competency and learning needs based on changing conditions of medical technology, new processes, new procedures, or desired professional advancement.
•    Works individually with staff members to address learning needs and establishes a plan of action.
•    Assigns staff members to serve as preceptors for orientation or re-training.
•    Meets regularly with staff members and preceptors to assess progress and re-evaluate plan of action.
•    Evaluates staff members potential for success and/or initiates exit strategy for termination.
•    Ensures creation and maintenance of accurate physician preference cards as needed.
•    Responsible for fostering an environment which promotes staff growth and development.
•    Intervenes as necessary and with prompt attention to unprofessional conduct by staff members.
•    Contributes to annual performance appraisals of staff members.
•    Committed to developing mutually supported professional relationships with physicians, colleagues, direct reports, and company representatives.
•    Communicates directly with physicians regarding preference cards, special requests, and specific needs.
•    Facilitate smooth and efficient running of the surgery schedule by coordinating patient through the continuum of care.
•    Assists in the interviewing and hiring process of identified staff positions.
•    Conducts daily safety huddle, records a summary of discussion, and sends an email to all staff members.
•    Oversees orientation of new hires, by assigning staff member, or self, to serve as preceptor and conducts follow up with new hire and preceptor for progress and learning needs.
Leadership
•    Collaborates with other management team members in meeting the mission & goals of the organization.
•    Determines functional processes needed to achieve goals and allocates necessary resources.
•    Inspires staff members to accomplish identified goals.
•    Contributing member of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Committee.
•    Proactively seeks to continuously improve patient care and operations.
•    Participates in monitoring and completing compliance of concurrent activities:
•    Quality control checks, audits, outdates, occurrences, month end reports etc.
•    Identifies opportunities for Performance Improvement studies and directs corrective action plan.
•    Reviews facility policy & procedures annually. Assists in policy revisions, reflecting current practice standards.
•    Manage grievances (patient, surgeon, staff) as appropriate for the condition, escalating through chain of support as necessary.
•    Directs staff members in daily completion of work assignments with clear and concise information and expectations.
•    Hold staff members accountable for completion of work assignments according to processes, policies, and procedures.
•    Examples include pulling cases, audits, supply stocking, and/or other department needs.
•    Responsible for other functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•  
 Inpatient or Outpatient surgery experience required.
•    CNOR preferred or CNOR certification within 6-months of start date.
•    Previous supervisor or middle management experience preferred.
•    Effective communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with all physicians and staff.
•    Strong organizational skills and clear understanding of the importance of efficiency and cost containment.
•    Must have an aptitude for understanding, operating, and troubleshooting machines and equipment.
•    Skilled with independent problem solving, demonstrating rationale and confidence in decisions rendered.
•    Ability to remain calm in emergency situations, quickly assess situations, and appropriately direct others.
•    Ability to direct activities of others with enforcement as necessary.
•    Demonstrates Professional development as evidenced by:

•    Acts with confidence, shows concern with professional presentation; is available to others.
•    Focuses on individual staff strengths, supports staff to meet or exceed performance expectations.

Experience:

License/Certification:
