Salary Range: $76960 - $81120
Hours: Mon-Fri, day shift, No nights, no weekends, no holidays, no on-call requirement
Physical Setting: Outpatient Surgery Center - Orthopedics, Total Joint Replacement, General, Plastics, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry

Summary:
The Certified Surgical Scrub Technician is a member of the surgical team who works with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, RNs, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during and after surgery procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Technical Diploma Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program. Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Course Completion. Strong communication (both written and oral), critical thinking, problem solving, detail orientation, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situation. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications: 2-3 years In a Surgical Technologist role. Hospital Experience: 1 year (Required) and Orthopedic: 1 year (Required)

Our Surgery Center specializes in same day outpatient surgeries. Our specialties include Orthopedics, Hand Microsurgery, Neurosurgery, Joint Replacement, ENT, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, and Pain Management. Our surgeons are here to meet the needs of both adult and pediatric members of our community. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
In this role, the successful candidate under the direction of the RN, plans the delivery of safe, therapeutic, age specific care. Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. Provides the surgical team with the necessary instruments, sutures, special equipment, and materials needed to perform surgery while maintaining strict aseptic technique. Assists in circulating obtains instruments, supplies and equipment necessary while the surgical procedure is in progress. Participates in unit/departmental/institutional performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes.

Job Requirements/Responsibilities
•    Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and the scrub tech role in performing these procedures.
•    Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and its use in the surgical environment Demonstrates knowledge of a surgical scrub technicians duties before, during and after the surgical case
•    Assembles supplies, equipment, instruments, and all necessary items for scheduled surgical procedures in accordance with physicians preference cards.
•    Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, center/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
•    Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies and equipment as directed.
•    Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during the procedure as well as storing and stocking supplies as directed
•    Maintains and updates instruments cards / tray lists and surgeons preference cards regularly
•    Follows the center exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
•    Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and acts according to policy
•    Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
•    Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a center/unit team inter- and intra-center to facilitate the centers ability to meet its goals and objectives.
•    Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
•    Provides direct care for specific patient assignment reflective of current and changing
